no funciona is the phrase to own
It covers anything broken, from a light to a lift to a website. Point at the thing and say no funciona and you will be understood everywhere, which is more than can be said for the specific noun.
The name goes after a nombre de
Say the surname clearly and be ready to spell it. Learn the Spanish alphabet sounds for the letters in your own name before you travel, because that is the one spelling you will be asked for.
