The part that actually works
You do not have a memory problem. You have a scheduling problem.
You can hold twenty new Spanish words on a Tuesday and lose most of them by Friday. The review deck asks you about a word just before you would forget it, then leaves it alone for longer every time you get it right. Fifteen new words a day, reviews by the day rather than the clock, and it makes no difference whether you sit down at seven in the morning or eleven at night.
What forgetting looks like
The dashed line is a word you met once. The gold line is the same word with two reviews.
How a day works
Each day of the free Spanish course takes about ten minutes. You learn three small groups of phrases, and every group ends by explaining why Spanish does it that way rather than handing you a rule to memorise. There is a culture note, four lines carried over from earlier days, and eight questions, at least one of which you type rather than pick.
Every Spanish line has a speaker button beside it. The course teaches Latin American Spanish by default, because that is what most English speakers meet first, and one tap on any lesson shows the Spain form wherever the two differ.
